Exide Technologies Launches New Web Site

PRINCETON, N.J., Nov. 5, 2002; Exide Technologies,, a worldwide leader in stored electrical energy solutions, has redesigned and relaunched its Web site, www.exide.com .

Exide's cyber environment creates a consistent presence across all of the company's global business units -- Motive Power, Network Power and Transportation -- reflecting the new Exide Technologies. Its streamlined look includes a number of enhancements including improved navigation, new content and new links.

The site unifies Exide and tells the Company's story to significant audiences including consumers; customers and potential customers; distributors; employees; government regulators; investors/shareholders; media; and suppliers. The refreshed home page serves as a portal, incorporating a series of links that take the visitor to other locations in the site with a minimal number of mouse clicks. The design is the first phase in a comprehensive redesign of the company's entire Web presence, including its Intranet and Extranet sites.

One notable addition to the Exide Web site is a section about EXCELL (Exide's Customer-focused Excellence Lean Leadership system), which is the cornerstone of the Company's North American reorganization. The site also incorporates a press room with updated background materials and fact sheets on the company, profiles of its leadership team and snapshots of its global business units, including a quick link to current and archived news releases. The press room, along with the rest of the site, will be populated continuously with new materials, such as product photos, logos, white papers and presentations.
