CarParts Technologies' Tire Trading Network Selected by Nation's Leading Tire Dealers
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif.--Nov. 5, 2002--CarParts Technologies Inc. (CPT), the leading provider of open, eCommerce and business automation software solutions for the automotive aftermarket, today announced it has been awarded several new contracts to provide its Tire Trading Network software to some of the industry's leading tire dealers which translates into hundreds of new locations using CarParts Technologies solutions across the United States.
CarParts Technologies' Tire Trading Network is a modular software application suite for the tire industry. One module is the Tradera(TM) Tire Management System, a world class point-of-sale (POS) system for wholesale, commercial, and retail tire dealers with integrated dealer accounting from Microsoft(R). The other module is the OpenWebs(TM) Intelligent Trading Network (ITN) which enables peer-to-peer eCommerce trading capabilities.
Many of the nation's leading tire dealers including Ken Towery's Auto Care Centers, Homann Tire, Atlanta Commercial Tire, Consolidated Tire, Tarulli Tire, Ozarko Tire Centers, A&E Tire and Carr's Big L Tire have selected CarParts Technologies' Tire Trading Network as the software system that will drive their business to achieve increased revenues, reduced costs and improved customer service.
"The Tradera Tire Management System provides the comprehensive capabilities required to run my business so I can maximize customer satisfaction and profitability," said Gary McGinnis, president of Ozarko Tire Centers.
The Tradera Tire Management System provides exceptional ROI through its inventory management capabilities and its National Account DR reconciliation functionality.
The Tire Trading Network technology also provides CarParts Technologies' new customers access to the nation's third largest tire company and its electronic distribution network system that will enable all of its stores to rapidly place orders over the Internet using the CarParts Technologies XML-based Intelligent Trading Network.
"These new customers will benefit from the peer-to-peer tire trading capabilities resulting from our recent OpenWebs Intelligent Trading Network acquisition," said Dave McCann, CEO of CarParts Technologies. "We're looking forward to working with these new customers and providing them with the eCommerce tools that will contribute to the growth and success of their business on all levels, while connecting them more effectively with their prime supplier."
CarParts Technologies' Tire Trading Network integrates with the Microsoft Solomon enterprise accounting solution, which provides customers with the comprehensive, tire industry-specific accounting capabilities that are key to their success.
"We're excited about how our selection of the OpenWebs Intelligent Trading Network will help drive the growth of our wholesale business," said Doug Meadows, vice president and general manager of Ken Towery Auto Care Centers.
