Washington Group Subsidiary Rust Constructors Wins Contract to Manage Construction of $1.2 Billion Hyundai Plant in Alabama
BOISE, Idaho--Nov. 5, 2002--Washington Group International, Inc. (OTCBB:WGII) announced today that its subsidiary, Rust Constructors Inc., has been selected by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC (HMMA) to manage construction of a $1.2 billion, two-million-square-foot automobile assembly plant in Montgomery, Alabama.As construction manager, Birmingham, Alabama-based Rust Constructors' responsibilities will include oversight of the project schedule, budget, and safety program and management of construction and specialty subcontractors.

HMMA will produce 300,000 automobiles per year at the plant. Construction will start immediately. The plant is expected to produce its first automobiles and sport utility vehicles in 2005.
Hanks said Rust Constructors will assist HMMA in hiring local contractors and subcontractors.
