CCITRIAD Announces Major Enhancements for the Ultimate System

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 5, 2002; CCITRIAD, the industry leader in data services, management and information systems for the automotive aftermarket, today announced that it will embed the jBASE multi-value database solution and associated development tool set into the CCITRIAD Ultimate platform. The upgrade will enable customers and the CCITRIAD development team to use new features and functionality, such as transaction journaling and external data integration, to increase development productivity and to support future graphics-intensive applications. This effort is part of the initial phase of the company's investment in system enhancements for its store platforms.

CCITRIAD's Ultimate Business System is currently used by 105 customers in over 1,100 locations. Large warehouse operations that need one central resource to manage multiple inventories typically run the application on a HP9000. CCITRIAD's Ultimate software is a rich, full-featured application suite that includes order processing, accounting, inventory control, stock replenishment, sales analysis, Internet communications, and the CCITRIAD PartExpert(TM) catalog database. Now, Ultimate users will be able to take advantage of powerful new languages and tools that can greatly increase the performance of Ultimate and enable connectivity to other resources, such as other databases, which conserves time and resources.

"We chose to enhance the Ultimate Warehouse System with jBASE because they offer state-of-the-art databases and development tools that are a perfect complement to our application," said Doug Palmer, VP Product Development for Automotive at CCITRIAD. "This upgrade takes our most scalable, multi-location application suite and puts it on a technology platform that gives our customers contemporary development tools and more options to develop new applications with graphical or web-based interfaces."

CCITRIAD is recognized for its expertise in automotive aftermarket technology solutions and is continuously innovating new products and services to help its customers effectively execute new levels of business strategies. This latest enhancement, with improved graphical interfaces, will be the basis for supporting the increased content in CCITRIAD's next generation catalog as well as make training of countermen easier. CCITRIAD and jBASE development teams are working together to enhance the performance of jBASE to ensure parts distributors will be able to optimize application development as well as extend their hardware options. Phased implementations will begin with porting and testing in November and customer conversions in March 2003.

CCITRIAD will be demonstrating the new jBASE database at Booth #5000 at the Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas November 4-8 at the Sand Expo Center.
