GM names Eric A. Feldstein president of GMAC

NEW YORK, Nov 3, 2002; Reuters reported that General Motors Corp., the world's largest automaker, said on Sunday it has named Eric A. Feldstein to lead finance unit General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), succeeding Chairman and President John D. Finnegan, effective immediately.

Finnegan resigned to become president and chief executive of The Chubb Corp., a leading U.S. business insurer, GM said in an announcement.

Feldstein, 43, who has been GM vice president of finance since June 2001 and corporate treasurer since 1997, is promoted to GM group vice president and president of GMAC, reporting to GM President and Chief Executive Officer Rick Wagoner.

A successor to Feldstein will be named at a later date.
