Pistons Name Chevrolet As Exclusive Automotive Sponsor

DETROIT, MI - The Detroit Pistons today announced a multi-year deal with the newest member of its starting line-up - The Detroit-Area Chevrolet Dealers.

As the Official Vehicle of the Pistons, Chevrolet will be visible to fans through a fully integrated sponsorship including extensive in-arena signage at The Palace at Auburn Hills, logo placement on the Pistons press conference banner, vehicle displays outside the arena, advertisements in Pistons publications including the media guide and Hoop Magazine, and a community relations component as the Official Vehicle of the Detroit Pistons Youth Training Clinics.

"We are proud to be involved with the Chevrolet, an internationally-recognized leader in the automotive industry, and an icon in the Detroit community," said Tom Wilson, CEO and President of Palace Sports & Entertainment and the Detroit Pistons. "We immediately have a common association in the fact that we are both a part of the Motor City and Chevrolet's identity is very similar to the Pistons: hard-working, rock solid performance and a strong, consistent effort every time. We are excited about this alliance because we see it working for both the Pistons and the Detroit-Area Chevrolet Dealers on so many fronts and look forward to many great years together."

The Detroit-Area Chevrolet Dealers will leverage their sponsorship of the Pistons by hosting a leather jacket giveaway at every Pistons home game to fans registering at the Chevrolet kiosk on the concourse. Chevrolet incorporated an internet component into the sponsorship where fans visiting www.pistons.com can click on the Chevrolet logo and register to win two court-side tickets to an upcoming game. Also, fans attending the Pistons vs. Milwaukee Bucks game on November 29 will receive a Ben Wallace CelebriDuck, courtesy of Chevrolet.

"This partnership allows the Detroit-Area Chevrolet Dealers to further market themselves in General Motors' own backyard while creating a strong corporate alliance with another Detroit industry leader," said Kate Hardy, Chevrolet Marketing Manager in the North Central Region. "The Pistons draw a fan base of all ages and ethnicities, which aligns with Chevrolet's ability to attract a variety of lifestyles with our full line of cars and trucks."

Pistons fans will have the opportunity to check out Chevrolet's newest models with six vehicle displays surrounding The Palace. This season, Chevrolet will offer Pistons fans a detailed view of its newest 2003 models including the Trailblazer, Avalanche, and the re-designed Silverado and Cavalier.

This is the third NBA team sponsorship for Chevrolet, which also currently sponsors the Indiana Pacers and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Chevrolet is a Division of General Motors , the world's largest vehicle manufacturer, designs, builds and markets cars and trucks worldwide, and has been the global automotive sales leader since 1931.
