Apogee Enterprises Elects New Board Member
MINNEAPOLIS--Oct. 31, 2002--Apogee Enterprises, Inc. , which develops and delivers value-added glass products and services for the architectural, automotive and large-scale optical industries, today announced that it has elected Robert L. Edwards, 47, to its Board of Directors. Edwards is senior vice president, chief financial officer (CFO) and chief administrative officer (CAO) at Imation Corp., a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of magnetic and optical removable data storage media with 2001 sales of $1.2 billion headquartered in Oakdale, MN."With Robert's addition to the Apogee board, we have another experienced financial professional, which is critical in today's environment," said Russell Huffer, Apogee chairman, president and chief executive officer. "We will also benefit from his strong combination of strategy, planning and corporate development expertise as we shape Apogee's growth platform for the future."
Edwards joined Imation in April 1998 after 20 years of experience in the transportation and energy industries. At Imation, he is responsible for financial and administrative functions. Prior to Imation, he was with Santa Fe Pacific Pipelines, Inc., where he served in several leadership positions, including senior vice president, business development, CFO, treasurer and member of the Board of Directors.
He received both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Brigham Young University.
