CCC Continues Character of Caring with $29,500 Donation to Make-A-Wish Foundation
CHICAGO--Oct. 28, 2002--In September, 2002, CCC Information Services Inc. donated $29,500 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, proudly granting the wishes of seven seriously ill children. Over half of the donation was generated by employee-driven fundraising activities in the company's Chicago, Ill., Glendora, Calif., and Sioux Falls, S.D. offices."On behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the children whose wishes have been granted, I would like to thank CCC and its employees for this generous donation," said Julie Pendell, director of development of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois. "Through donations like this, the Make-A-Wish Foundation is able to continue our mission to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses."
The donations to the Northern Illinois, Greater Los Angeles and South Dakota chapters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation are part of CCC's Character of Caring, a program that supports charitable involvement and active participation in the automotive claims industry and local communities where offices are located. The company's involvement includes sponsorship and volunteerism activities on both corporate and employee levels.
Over the last year, CCC and its employees have donated nearly $200,000 to community organizations such as Chicago Technology Cares and industry organizations including I-CAR and the Society of Collision Repair Specialist's (SCRS) Camp Make-A-Dream fund. The company has also donated items such as computers, cell phones and food to shelters, schools and non-profit organizations.
"Being active participants in our industry and good neighbors in our Chicago, Glendora and Sioux Falls office communities is important to the people of CCC," said Oliver Prince, senior vice president and chief talent officer at CCC. "We are extremely proud to make our donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to help make a difference in the lives of seven very special children."
