Yamaha's Electric Scooter Selling Well In Japan

TOKYO — Jaapan Today reported that Yamaha Motor Co has received 300 orders for its Passol electric scooter in the first two weeks of sales, more than half the target, company officials said Thursday.

Yamaha Motor began accepting orders for the only domestically made electric scooter, to be released in November, via the Internet from consumers in the Tokyo metropolitan area on Oct 9, hoping to sell only 500 units. (Kyodo News
