Japan Sept auto output up 10.8 pct year/year

TOKYO, Oct 28, 2002; Reuters reports that Japan's domestic automobile production rose 10.8 percent in September from a year earlier to 917,323 vehicles, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) said on Monday.

The association said it estimated exports in September to have risen about 10 percent from a year earlier.

For the half year ended in September, JAMA said output rose 4.7 percent year-on-year to 4,990,820 vehicles, while exports rose around 15 percent.
