Mitsubishi Motors Recognized as Technology Leader For Fourth Consecutive Year

CYPRESS, Calif., Oct. 24, 2002; Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. (MMSA) has earned a place on the InformationWeek 500 list for the fourth year in a row thanks to the company's effective use of innovative technologies that help improve business operations and allow the company to better serve its customers. MMSA made a significant gain from ranking 158 in 2001 to ranking 57 on this year's list.

"We're on track for a fourth consecutive year of record sales and record profits," said Greg O'Neill, MMSA president and COO. "It's no coincidence that each year our business improves we're also named to the InformationWeek 500. It's clear that our company's commitment to technology is paying off."

Companies included in the InformationWeek 500 are judged on application development, e-business, customer-relationship management, and business process/enterprise resource planning.

The company was recognized for achievements including:

* Improving company relationships and collaborations with partners, suppliers and customers by implementing a state-of-the-art order management system * Upgrading Customer Connections, the company's state-of-the art customer contact center * Developing a new dealer portal that provides Web-based, real-time communications with the company's nationwide network of more than 600 dealers

All Mitsubishi Motors North American sales, finance, manufacturing, research and development operations are overseen by Mitsubishi Motors America, Inc., which will be consolidated into Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) early in 2003.
