The FB Johnston Group Selected To Produce Pump Graphics, Secondary Signage For BP Re-imaging Program
HILLSBOROUGH, N.C.--Oct. 22, 2002--The FB Johnston Group (FBJ) has been selected to produce new pump dispenser graphics as well as other external signage for BP retail outlets throughout the U.S.Terms of the multi-million dollar deal were not disclosed. The project, tied into BP's "Harmony" re-branding campaign, calls for FBJ to produce graphics for as many as 8,000 sites over the next three years.
"We will provide all the printed outdoor graphics that appear below the canopy covering the fuel dispensers at BP stations," said FBJ Vice President of OEM Business Development Diccon Ward. "That includes pump dispenser graphics for the lower doors, metal valances, pump overlays and rubber handle scuff guards. FBJ will also produce graphics for secondary signage, including decals and signs for car-wash and storefront areas."
Global Alliance, which is representing BP interests in re-imaging operating stations, selected FBJ following an extensive review process. The Global Alliance is an unincorporated partnership between Bovis Lend Lease and BP, working together to deliver retail site services around the globe. As a result of the new contract, FBJ has added new employees to its Chapin, SC, and Hillsborough, NC, manufacturing facilities. Both locations will be involved in producing the graphics for BP.
"We are delighted to be working with FBJ on this project," said Rick Sanchez, Americas Procurement Manager for Global Alliance. "Their total quality commitment really inspires our confidence."
FBJ is an experienced graphics supplier to the petroleum industry. Currently, the company also produces graphics for gasoline dispenser manufacturers, including Gilbarco and Dresser Wayne.
"FBJ's unique approach set us apart during the bidding process," Ward said. "Our OEM expertise means that we offer just-in-time delivery, inventory management and support documentation."
