New Mobile Broadcasting Technology Brings 'In Home' Quality to the Automobile
TROY, Mich., Oct. 21 -- Have you ever been riding in the back seat of a car wishing you were at home so you could catch the latest episode of your favorite program? With Delphi's television receiver system, you won't have to wish; you can watch. Delphi Corporation brings distortion-free mobile reception technology to the vehicle with its DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting). DVB-T offers multi-program TV, which includes stereo and surround sound, and audio and data services within one physical transmission channel. The initial key market regions include Europe, Japan and Brazil.
Originally digital video broadcasting was created for in-home use only. Delphi's DVB-T allows vehicle passengers to view programs with exceptional quality beyond the traditional use of analog television.
"This technology allows Delphi to make the transition for the viewer from home to vehicle without loss of video or sound quality," said Bob Schumacher, business line executive for Delphi's Wireless Business Line. "DVB-T's seamless broadcast gives viewers the same services while traveling -- even at high speeds -- as at home."
The Delphi technology, created by its FUBA Reception Systems, offers robust reception of broadband data signals under difficult reception conditions.
In addition to a full line of television receiver systems and antennas, Delphi offers a variety of rear-seat entertainment electronics for the automotive and consumer markets.
