Honda to Import Small Cars To Japan from Thailand
TOKYO — October 19, 2002 Honda Motor Co will begin importing small cars built in Thailand for sale in Japan, in the first attempt for the company to import cars from another Asian country to its home market, company sources said Saturday.
A local unit of the Japanese automaker, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co, will export the vehicles, the sources said. The local unit, capable of producing 70,000 cars a year, started exporting Accord models to Indonesia in September. (Kyodo News)
