AuraGen Ship-Thru Approval Announced at NTEA Conferences by Ford MVE
EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--Oct. 17, 2002--Aura Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: AURA) today announced the Ford Motor Company's continued support to increase industry awareness of the recent Ford approval of the AuraGen(R) for ship-thru installation by Louisville Truck Equipment and Fort Wayne Fleet Equipment. Representatives of the Ford Motor Company announced the AuraGen approval at two recent National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Conferences. The ship-thru installation approval is important because it allows customers to order the AuraGen as a ship-thru option on Ford's Super Duty F-Series trucks through any Ford dealership worldwide. Sales of these vehicles have been approximately 360,000 trucks per year. The Ford announcements were made at the National Truck Equipment Association's NTEA 2003 Model Truck Product Conference by William Chew of Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering group on September 17 and by Alex Jowa of Ford's Modified Vehicle Engineering group on September 18 at the NTEA's Ambulance Manufacturers Division meeting. Both conferences were held in Dearborn, Michigan.
The ship-thru approval for the AuraGen on Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks significantly enhances the convenience to commercial customers by allowing them to order the AuraGen as a ship-thru option directly from any Ford dealership worldwide. The AuraGen can now be installed at the approved ship-thru upfitters, located adjacent to the Ford truck manufacturing plant. The customized vehicle then follows its normal delivery process to the ordering Ford dealership and, ultimately, the end-customer. Installed on vehicles such as the Ford trucks, the AuraGen serves the mobile power needs of customers in the Oil & Gas, Telecom, Cable, Utility, Municipality, Emergency Vehicle, Recreational Vehicle and Military markets.
The NTEA currently represents over 1,600 companies that manufacture, distribute, install, buy, sell and repair commercial trucks, truck bodies, truck equipment, trailers and accessories. Buyers of work trucks and the major commercial truck chassis manufacturers also belong to the NTEA. The Ambulance Manufacturers Division (AMD), which became an NTEA affiliate in 1986, represents manufacturers of ambulances, rescue and emergency vehicles, and related emergency apparatus and equipment.
