Petty Enterprises Contracts InfoVision for Microsoft Great Plains Solution

CHARLOTTE & CONCORD, N.C.--Oct. 16, 2002--Petty Enterprises and Richard Petty Driving Experience have announced their newest team member.
The organization that has fielded one of the most successful stock car racing teams in the last half-century, Petty Enterprises has chosen InfoVision of Charlotte to provide a Microsoft Business Solution to several of their companies.
InfoVision President Greg Aker comments, "While this is a relatively new experience working for NASCAR teams, the need for comprehensive, reliable solutions and IT service is necessary for every type of business. Petty Enterprises sees the value in the one-on-one relationship we're known for at InfoVision and we're delighted to be an integral part of their team for the future."
It was in May of this year when Petty Enterprises began working with InfoVision to integrate the Microsoft Great Plain's solution with their existing systems. Over past months both Petty Enterprises and InfoVision staff have been working side by side to ensure the team maintains its competitive edge by integrating its current technology in a fast-changing, industry.
"We recognized a number of benefits to bringing on InfoVision," states Petty Enterprises Chief Financial Officer, Ken Rogich. "They have the ability to offer several different services relating to both hardware and software. That's a real added value: one relationship with one company (instead of several) - together with the advantage of Microsoft Great Plains and their partners."
Though some of the Petty companies already used Microsoft Great Plains, many of the others were using completely different accounting software. Converting the different systems and integrating others for Petty is not a simple task. Petty's companies include a museum, a transportation group, the Driving Experience and the race team (among others).
Petty Controller Keith Martin adds, "Integrations are never perfect ... What you want from your partner is someone to stand with through the problems and keep slugging until everything works."
InfoVision of Charlotte is considered to be one of the top Microsoft Great Plains software and service providers, being recognized as a President's Club member for six consecutive years. Since 1994, the firm has been earning its reputation for service excellence, as it provides sound, long-term solutions for small and medium-sized businesses and connects customers with the finest vendors in the world. Recently the company was the recipient of both the "Technology Award" and the prestigious "Small Business" Award by the Charlotte chapter of the Breakfast Club of America (Hood Hargett Breakfast Club). It made the Business Journal's Tech Fast Fifty for the fifth consecutive year, and received the Charlotte "Ethics in Business" Award, small business category. In 2001, InfoVision President Greg Aker appeared in the Business Journal's 40 under 40 and the company was most recently named a "Family Friendly" Company by Charlotte Parent Magazine.
