Chrysler Group Vice President Mark Norman Wins Automotive Hall of Fame's 'Young Leadership and Excellence Award'
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 15, 2002; Drive, determination and confidence are all characteristics of leaders. Today, Mark Norman, Chrysler Group Vice President - Sales and Marketing Operations, was honored as one of the "best of the best" for his leadership skills by the Automotive Hall of Fame with its prestigious "Young Leadership and Excellence Award."
Each year the Automotive Hall of Fame's Young Leadership and Excellence Award recognizes men and women up to 35 years of age who have demonstrated significant potential as future industry leaders.
"Although it's an honor to receive this award, it takes an entire team to make a difference," said Norman. "Success in our business is about more than just today's achievements; it's about building a strong team to address tomorrow's challenges."
Norman is responsible for volume and capacity planning, sales distribution, vehicle incentives, sales forecasting and sales reporting. His responsibilities also include global integration of sales volume planning and vehicle distribution functions within the Chrysler Group brands, as well as with other DaimlerChrysler AG brands.
Norman was appointed to the position of Vice President - Sales and Marketing Operations for DaimlerChrysler's Chrysler Group in November 2001. Norman joined Chrysler Group from Ford Motor Company where he held a variety of positions in sales and marketing.
Norman completed his undergraduate degree at Rice University in 1989, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics. He also holds a graduate degree from the Harvard Business School where he graduated in 1994 with a Master's degree in Business Administration. He resides in Birmingham, Michigan with his wife, Sandi, and their two children
