Advanced Recycling Sciences Inc. Announces Senior Executive for Germany; Dr. Walter Lambrecht Appointed Manager, German Subsidiary Operations

IRVINE, Calif.--Oct. 15, 2002--As part of its continuing program to expand its local presence in Germany, Advanced Recycling Sciences Inc. ("ARS")(OTCBB:ARYC), a leader in innovative products and technologies for the tire and rubber recycling industry, announced the appointment of Dr. Walter Lambrecht as manager of its Poseidon Products, GmbH plant in Penkun, Mecklenberg-Vorpommern, Germany.
Through Poseidon, ARS will construct a state-of-the-art tire and rubber recycling crumb rubber-manufacturing facility and later introduce significant patented technologies to manufacture aftermarket products. The Poseidon facility will have the capacity to process 30,000 tons of tires -- or 3 million tires -- annually.
"Dr. Lambrecht is a great addition to ARS Germany and represents the latest step in our ongoing effort to drive our expanding operations in Mecklenberg-Vorpommern. ARS is committed to Germany. A large part of our commitment is ensuring we provide the highest level of support to the market, which means hiring the most capable and experienced executives in the region," commented Ehrenfried Liebich, chairman and CEO.
Lambrecht has extensive senior management experience in a wide variety of industries, most recently with the international Berendsen group, which has 3,000 employees in Germany. In his new role with Poseidon, he will focus on concluding the negotiations with local banks, investment partners and vendors to ensure the smooth completion of the project and implementation through construction and production management.
"This is an exciting time to enter the crumb rubber market in Germany, especially with a new interest by the state government with the use of rubberized asphalt which culminated with the laying of 11 kilometers of rubberized asphalt road in September."
"I am pleased to have the opportunity to participate in this industry," said Lambrecht. "I look forward to using my experience to drive the growth and capabilities of the Poseidon operations and I am also excited to be part of the ARS team."
