Two Years in a Row: Manugistics Named Finalist for Prestigious Automotive News PACE Awards
DETROIT--Oct. 14, 2002--Manugistics Group, Inc. , the leading global provider of supply chain management and pricing optimization solutions, today announced that, for the second year in a row, it has been named a finalist for the Automotive News PACE Awards. Established in 1994 by the leading automotive industry trade journal, this annual awards program recognizes the achievements of automotive industry suppliers who have successfully pursued innovative strategies to benefit their automotive OEM (original equipment manufacturer) clients.
Manugistics Web-based Supplier iHub solution, initially deployed at DaimlerChrysler as part of their eBusiness initiatives, is honored in the Information Technology and Services category. Following a competitive review process, only two other auto suppliers were selected as finalists in the Information Technology and Services category, with 19 other suppliers selected as finalists in three other categories.
"We are honored to be named a finalist for the Automotive News PACE Awards two years in a row - becoming the first software company to enjoy this distinction," said Jeff McKinney, Manugistics executive vice president, and president of North America Operations. "The recognition of Manugistics Supplier iHub as an innovative solution for the automotive industry is further proof that our Web-based solutions deliver value to our clients today."
"We applaud DaimlerChrysler for having the strategic vision to embrace collaborative technologies such as the iHub, demonstrating a clear understanding of the benefits to their overall cost structure, and enhancing their ability to meet the needs of their customers," added McKinney. "And I congratulate the Manugistics team for their efforts."
The Manugistics Supplier iHub solution is designed to enable an automaker to communicate real-time and accurate changes in production and demand for systems, modules and components throughout its multi-tier supply chain. The real-time capabilities of the iHub solution have helped OEM's and fourth-tier suppliers condense their ability to reflect changes in demand from at least 14 days to one day - helping decrease levels of inventory and enhance customer service. Manugistics has adapted these collaborative capabilities for deployment to other clients and other industries.
PACE stands for Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contributions to Excellence. Winners of this year's awards will be chosen by an independent panel of judges and will be announced on March 3, 2003 in Detroit, Michigan.
Manugistics automotive industry clients include, among others, innovators such as BMW AG, DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Dana Corporation, Deere & Co., Exide Technologies, Ford Motor Company, Harley-Davidson, Inc., Michelin Group, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America (MMSA), Nissan North America, Subaru of America, Inc., Tenneco Automotive and Volkswagen AG.
