Union Says: Talks between CAW and DaimlerChrysler at breaking point

TORONTO, Oct. 11, 2002 - After an exceedingly tough late afternoon meeting on Friday with the top level bargainers in DaimlerChrysler, CAW president Buzz Hargrove and bargaining committee chairperson, Ken Lewenza have called for a 9:00am full master and local bargaining committee meeting with the company.

"This face-to-face meeting of the entire negotiating teams will determine whether talks are at a breaking point," said Hargrove. The strike deadline has been set for 11:59pm, Tuesday, October 15.

The meeting will take place in the Rossetti Room, 3rd Floor, Delta Chelsea Hotel, Saturday, October 12 at 9:00am.
