SpeedFreaks - K&N Filters Freakin' Funny Car Debut in Tejas

Screw Making History, SpeedFreaks Rewrite It

Hollywood, CA (October 7, 2002) - The Mod Squad of Motorsports will again set the standard in motorsports coverage for all to follow when their likeness and logos cover the hood and sides of the SpeedFreaks K&N Filters Freakin' Funny Car in Texas for the NHRA O'Reilly Fall Nationals. (see attached)

"One evening this summer in Shreveport, K&N Filters' CEO Rodney Mall and I were taking in one of his sponsored races," says SpeedFreaks CEO Kenny Sargent. "Before you knew it, Mall and I had come up with a concept car that actually made it off the showroom floor and onto the quarter mile stage. You can say what you want, but I can tell you Statt Mann's sleek melon, Lugg's whack Oakley aerodome, Crash's cleavage and my pork chop burns will look fly as hell at 320 miles an hour."

"This is the first time I will be comfortable seeing my face plastered on the side of anything," says the Freaks' Lugg Nutts. "Last time my face adorned space, was at the post office."

The Freakin' Funny Car of course comes with the team owner's blessing, the great Jim Dunn who said on the national SpeedFreaks show last night, "I just wanted to do something weird. I'm one that likes to make noise and this will definitely get them talking."

Over the weekend, the driver of the Freakin' Funny Car, Frank Pedregon, will kindly be referred to as Freak Pedregon. Freak will be surrounded by the Freaks as all four of their heads will grace the two side windows of the car along with numerous loud and tactful SpeedFreaks logos strategically placed on the K&N Filters Funny Car body.

Along with the SpeedFreaks K&N Filters Freakin' Funny Car debut, SpeedFreaks will host the Freakin' NHRA O'Reilly Fall Nationals Pre Race Party at The Pour House in Ft. Worth (209 W. 5th Street) Thursday night, October 10 at 8 PM with a plethora of NHRA drivers on hand. Then Saturday becomes Freak Day at The Texas Motorplex as the quartet hosts the two story Freakin' Suite at the top end for the Freak Nation (call 800-Motorplex for tickets).

SpeedFreaks with Kenny Sargent, Crash Gladys, Lugg Nuttz and Statt Mann Caruthers can be heard every Sunday Night at 7 PM (PCT) on the SpeedFreaks Radio Network including Los Angeles' KLSX 97.1 FM, Dallas-Ft. Worth's KYNG 105.3 FM, San Francisco's KYCY 1550 AM, Detroit's WKRK 97.1 FM, Phoenix's XTRA Sports 910 AM, Sacramento's KXOA 93.7 FM, Las Vegas' KSFN 1140 AM, Madison's (WI) WTDY 1670 & WTDA 1480, Springfield's (IL) WMAY 970 AM and Reno's KBZZ 1270 AM.
