DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2002) - The hundreds of enticing
Project Show Vehicles, with their dazzling cosmetic improvements,
tire-smoking performance enhancements, and ear-pounding sound, are
truly the divas and megastars of the 2002 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas
Convention Center this November 5-8. Project Show Vehicles are cars
and trucks transformed by SEMA Show exhibitors into delightful,
imagination-stretching one-of-a-kind vehicles which have dynamic
designs and are equipped with cutting-edge technologies.
"Automotive manufacturers use the SEMA Show as a springboard to
launch their latest concept vehicles and as a testpad to gauge
industry and consumer reaction to new styles," says Peter
MacGillivray, vice president of sales and marketing for SEMA, the
Specialty Equipment Market Association. "This year, Chrysler Group,
the vehicle manufacturer of the SEMA Show, will continue the
tradition. It will introduce two exciting truck models and an
electric car that will spark everyone's imagination."
The Dodge Ram 3500 Cannonball Express is a brute, designed for
drivers whose passion is ignited by the wide-open road. The
Cannonball Express is based on the all-new 2003 Dodge Ram 1-ton
Dually 4x4. A hot rod off-roader, it is equipped with the high
output Cummins Turbo Diesel and pulls up the pavement with 650 lb ft
of torque and 350 horsepower.
Chrysler Group will also revive the glory days of the Dodge
Rebellion and the fabled Hemi, when it displays the Kenne Bell
Supercharged Hemi Ram with its massive Blowzilla 2.2-liter twin-
screw supercharger and intercooler, 16 plug aluminum heads, and
Optimizer II electronic engine management system. With 500
horsepower, the Dodge Hemi Ram turns up the tempo on sport trucks.
Another concept - the Voila!Kart - is based on the environmentally
friendly DaimlerChrysler GEM Car and inspired by the amazing Ala
Kart, designed by George Barris, the King of Customizers. It
promises to 'zap' attendees with the same radical design cues that
made the original famous; however, this one stands alone as the
first full custom Neighborhood Electric Vehicle.
More than 300 Show Project Vehicles will be exhibited in the SEMA
Show's feature vehicle areas. In addition, SEMA expects as many as
1,000 additional accessorized and customized cars and trucks to be
on display at its eye-candy-filled venue, for a total of some 1,300
imaginative vehicles. The world's largest custom Concours will be
led by vehicles such as the DAZZ Motorsport Mini with its Racing
Hart CR 19-inch wheels, Suspension Technique coil-over system,
custom stainless steel exhaust and Alpine audio system.
A complete list of exhibitors, seminars, and other SEMA Show
activities is available at www.semashow.com. Show hours are 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

convenience of buyers. The sections are named: International Tire
Expo; Mobile Electronics & Technology; Racing and Performance;
Restoration Marketplace; Restyling & Accessories Center; Street Rod
Alley; Trucks, SUVs, Truck Caps & Accessories; Wheels and
Performance Tires; (the all new) Performance Marine Pavilion; and
