$50,000 Bonus Prize Awarded At Indy Twin 25 USAC Midget Race

IRVINE, Calif. & INDIANAPOLIS--Oct. 2, 2002--Ten thousand people cheered him on and Dave Steele accepted the $50,000 Prolong Super Lubricants, Inc., check as his reward.
The operating subsidiary of Prolong International Corporation (AMEX:PRL), (http://www.prolong.com), Prolong Super Lubricants, awarded the $50,000 bonus prize at the first annual Indianapolis Twin 25's USAC Midget short track oval race at the Indianapolis Raceway Park on Friday night, September 27th. By winning the bonus, Steele won the largest paycheck in the history of the sport of Midget Car racing at the weekend event. Dino Tomassi, Fremont, California, is the car owner.
Steele, 28, of Tampa, Fla., one of the sport's top open wheel pavement specialists, won the first 25-lap race in his Beast Chassis Mopar Chrysler 4-Cylinder. He had to start at the back of the field for the second race, but passed the leader on the 12th lap on his way to his second checkered flag of the evening and the Prolong bonus prize. The newest event on the USAC Midget circuit, called "A Salute To The Racing Capital Of The World," will be broadcast on ESPN 2 on Sunday, October 6, at 4 p.m. Pacific, on the weekly show "ESPN Thunder." The midget cars are noted for being very quick and very light, featuring a 350 horsepower motor in a 900 pound car.
"The fireworks went off at the Indianapolis Raceway Park when Dave Steele won the second race and we salute him," said Prolong President and CEO Elton Alderman. "We have a long-standing tradition of motor sports involvement, we love Indianapolis, and everyone at Prolong is so pleased to have been part of this very successful inaugural event."
Mr. Alderman thanked "Steve Lewis and his outstanding team at Premier Racing Entertainment, of Laguna Beach, California, for their role in what could become an annual event. Steve Lewis was the individual who made this event such a huge success."
"Such great drivers as Al Unser, A.J. Foyt and Mario Andretti, as well as current champions Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart, got started in this kind of racing," said Mr. Alderman. "Dave Steele has already won several midget races this year, including the 2002 Cooper World Classic, and we will watch his career closely."
