OnStar Wireless Business Names Lent VP

OnStar Names New Vice President Of Wireless Business

TROY, Mich. - Anthony P. Lent has been named to the position of vice president, OnStar Wireless Business, OnStar President Chet Huber announced today.

In his new position, Lent will be responsible for the development and execution of OnStar's wireless business strategies, including OnStar Personal Calling and Virtual Advisor.

Lent comes to OnStar from Sprint PCS, where he was area vice president of the Great Lakes consumer area in Sprint PCS' North Region. In this role, he was responsible for directing all sales, marketing, and consumer relations activities in the area. He also assumed the full profit and loss responsibility for the area, which was the second largest area in Sprint PCS' 11 regions.

In addition to his experience with Sprint PCS, Lent brings significant telecommunications and wireless communication industry leadership experience to OnStar. He has held various roles of increasing responsibility since 1981 with GTE, GTE Mobilnet, and GTE International. He has been responsible for the improved revenues, customer satisfaction, customer usage and market share for a variety of products and services.

Lent holds bachelor's degrees in marketing and international business from the Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. and graduated with Cum Laude honors.

OnStar is the in-vehicle communication and information service from General Motors that uses the global positioning system (GPS) satellite network and cellular technology to link the vehicle and driver to the OnStar Center, where advisors are available to offer real-time, personalized assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. OnStar also offers Personal Calling, which allows drivers to make and receive cellular calls in a hands-free, voice-activated manner, and access Virtual Advisor, which provides drivers with personalized web-based information, such as e-mails, news, and location-based traffic and weather.
