VW says Sept ember U.S. Sales Rose 9.9%

FRANKFURT, Oct 1, 2002; Reuters reported that Volkswagen AG said on Tuesday it sold 27,494 vehicles in September in the United States, up 9.9 percent from a year ago.

Last September's sales were disrupted by the September 11 attacks on U.S. targets.

VW also said its U.S. sales fell to 264,423 vehicles in the first nine months of the yearfrom268,788 units in the corresponding period a year ago.
