Major German Automotive Line Builder Selects Tecnomatix Manufacturing Process Management Solution for Audi Car Project
NASHUA, N.H.--Oct. 1, 2002--Tecnomatix Technologies, Ltd. , the driving force in Manufacturing Process Management (MPM) solutions, today announced that Marxer Anlagen und Maschinenbau GmbH has placed an order of approximately US$225,000 for eMPower MPM products and services. Marxer will be using Tecnomatix eMPower CarBody solutions in the planning, design and ramp-up processes for the Audi C6 car project. The order, placed in the second quarter of 2002, is currently being implemented at Marxer's Friedberg, Germany headquarters.
Continuing its longstanding relationship with Tecnomatix, Marxer - which has been using eMPower eM-Workplace applications for several years - is now incorporating eM-Planner into its planning departments, increasing control and enhancing the quality of the linebuilder's planning output for body-in-white operations. eM-Planner enables designers and engineers across the extended enterprise to collaboratively plan and manage manufacturing processes throughout entire plants, and among lines and single operations.
"We are using eMPower technology to help plan our manufacturing processes and enhance workplace design. With eMPower, we can accelerate our project times - especially in the planning phase - allowing us to shorten ramp-up time and reduce the number and impact of engineering change orders," said Kurt Marxer, chief executive officer, Marxer Anlagen und Maschinenbau GmbH. "Tecnomatix has proven itself over the years with its eMPower solutions, and we have been particularly impressed by the company's eMPower offerings in the planning phases of our business. Extending our processes to include MPM solutions for body-in-white was an easy and logical decision for us to make." "A company's manufacturing processes are only as strong and effective as the planning that goes into them," said Harel Beit-On, chairman and CEO of Tecnomatix Technologies, Ltd. "Marxer has long recognized the value of our eMPower solutions, and in its ambitious Audi project Marxer will use our eMPower MPM solutions to help them deliver the outstanding quality for which they are recognized in the marketplace."
