IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 30, 2002 -- Volvo Cars of North America, LLC. (VCNA) announced pricing today of its 2003 model lineup. Following on the heels of the launch of the XC90, Volvo's first-ever sport-utility vehicle, 2003 introduces a number of luxury and performance enhancements for the entry level S40 and V40, the sporty S60, the versatile V70 and XC70 and the flagship S80.
"This is an exciting time for Volvo," said President and CEO of Volvo Cars of North America Vic Doolan. "With the introduction of the XC90, Volvo's product line now offers something for everyone; safety, performance, versatility and style. Our progressive pricing strategy for 2003 only reinforces the value that Volvo cars have always represented."
Highlighting Volvo's 2003 pricing strategy is the introduction of lower priced entry-level models. These vehicles, while still offering all of the safety and driving enjoyment Volvo's are known for, come equipped without expensive features such as leather seating and power sunroofs that may add unwanted cost to the purchase price. These creature comforts are now available as stand-alone options on many of the vehicles within the 2003 Volvo lineup, allowing customers even greater flexibility when equipping their new car.
Many of Volvo's popular option packages have been expanded to offer more features, and the entire line of vehicles for 2003 now come standard with single-disc in-dash CD stereo systems.
VCNA provides marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support to Volvo automobile retailers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
