Reichhold Acquires Millennium Polymer

    RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--Sept. 26, 2002--Reichhold, Inc. announced today that it has acquired the unsaturated polyester resin business of Millennium Polymer, a Houston, Texas (USA) resin supplier.
    The announcement was made during the Composite Fabricators Association's (CFA's) COMPOSITES 2002 trade show in Atlanta, Georgia, the largest composites trade show in North America.
    "This acquisition further solidifies Reichhold's global leadership position as the world's largest supplier of unsaturated polyester resins for the composites industry," said Reichhold Global Composites Senior Vice President Julia Harp.
    "We are very excited to welcome Millennium's customers to Reichhold and look forward to growing this business by providing total solutions to our new customers," Harp concluded.
    Under the terms of the agreement, all of Millennium's production, technical service, sales and customer service will be transferred to Reichhold's Global Composites business unit.
    Production of Millennium products will be transferred from Millennium's plant in Houston, Texas to Reichhold's Houston facility. Millennium personnel will work with Reichhold to ensure that the product requirements of Millennium customers are met without interruption.
    With 18 manufacturing facilities in 11 countries, Reichhold and parent company Dainippon Ink & Chemical (DIC) produce over 1 billion pounds of resins and gel coats each year.
