Law Wins in Canada; Tightens SRP II Driver Championship Race
Mont-Tremblant, Canada (September 18, 2002) - Darren Law and the #70 G&W Motorsports/Picchio Prototype team picked up their first win of the 2002 Rolex Sports Car Series season.
"We are happy to bring home a win for Picchio," Law said. "This has been a learning year for the G&W team. We've had a few setbacks this season, but it's been good for furthering the development of the Daytona prototype project."
Law's win last weekend tightens the SRP II Class driver championship race. Heading into the final event Law is only 24 points behind Terry Borcheller. No matter G&W's finishing position at the season finale in Daytona, Law will finish, at worst, second in driver points.
"No matter the outcome in Daytona, Picchio will have a first or second place finish in the final points," Law said. "That show well for them for their first season in the United States."
The Rolex Series season finale will start at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday November 10.
