Riley & Scott Announces Daytona Prototype With Toyota Engine

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 18, 2002) - Riley & Scott Racing announced agreement with Toyota Racing Development (TRD) to utilize the TRD-built Toyota Daytona Prototype V8 engine and to badge and identify its first Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype as a Toyota. Development of the new car, including Celica styling cues, continues in the company's Indianapolis factory.

"We are very encouraged that Riley & Scott, one of the most successful chassis builders in the industry, has chosen our Toyota Daytona Prototype V8 to power the first Riley & Scott Daytona Prototype," noted Gary Reed, Senior Manager of TRD's Special Racing Projects Department. "The combination of Riley & Scott ingenuity, reliable Toyota power, a first-rate contingency award program and TRD's commitment to at-track support make this a package that any serious participant should consider."

Riley & Scott President and founder Bob Riley was pleased to announce the new alliance. "TRD is one of the most desirable partners a company like ours can have", said Riley. "We're pleased our first Daytona Prototype will be a Toyota."

Company Vice President Bill Riley anticipates much success with the new car. "The Daytona Prototype is a great opportunity for a lot of people. We're proud to have been selected by Grand American to supply all the hub kits for the class, and look forward to building our first one as a Toyota".

Riley & Scott also announced the approval of their chassis design by Grand American and new dimensions and new, lower prices for the cars. Interested parties are invited to call Bill Riley at 317 248 9470 or visit the company website at www.rileyscott.com.
