Valeo Appoints Duncan Johns as Group Vice President, Valeo Service Activity

    PARIS--Sept. 18, 2002--Valeo (Paris: FR; OTC: VLEEY) today announced the appointment of Duncan Johns as Group Vice President of the Valeo Service Activity.
    In his new position, Johns will assume responsibility for all aspects of the company's OES/IAM (Original Equipment Spares/Independent Aftermarket) activities worldwide. Based at Valeo Service Headquarters near Paris, France, Johns reports to Thierry Morin, Chairman of Valeo's Management Board.
    Johns has held various operational and commercial positions since joining Valeo in 1993. Most recently he served as General Manager, Valeo Friction Materials.

He has extensive experience in the aftermarket," said Thierry Morin.
    Johns holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, England.
