Avatech Solutions Opens Kentucky Office-Extends Offices and Training Centers to 22

OWINGS MILLS, Md.--Sept. 17, 2002--Avatech Solutions, the nation's leading provider of design automation tools, training, integration services, and technical support, announced it has expanded its national presence by opening an office in the Greater Lexington Area of Georgetown, Kentucky.
The new office demonstrates Avatech's growing commitment to the Southern regions of the US, providing customers with a localized presence and special expertise in the manufacturing and automotive sectors. A training center complements the full range of custom implementation, programming, application development and support services that the new location offers.
Carl and Paula Smith join Avatech to head up the Kentucky office. The Smiths' expertise is in establishing and managing large customer accounts serving a variety of applications, particularly in the manufacturing sector. The new office will enable customers to still get the same local attention and customer service, with the added benefit of nationally extended resources. As former owners and founders of CADvantage, an Autodesk reseller, the couple brings a wealth of experience to Avatech.
"The opening of the Lexington area office furthers our commitment to expand operations and reach more customers--particularly in areas outside of the East Coast where we have the majority of representation," said Henry D. Felton, CEO of Avatech Solutions, "Bringing with them a solid track record and demonstrated expertise in a variety of applications, Carl and Paula add to our strong mandate of providing excellent customer service and expertise in the design automation industry."
"By joining Avatech, we are able to provide customers with a complete array of design automation products and services, backed by over 175 employees nationally--without taking away from local, focused attention," said Carl Smith, Account Manager at Avatech Solutions, "Many of our customers are large, national entities that require a broader spectrum of support options. By opening the new Kentucky branch and moving toward a centralized approach, we're able to provide customers with targeted support and services--whether they have one office or several, wherever they are situated in the country."
