"The rain didn't change the track much for me. My car is doing what I expected it to do. Hopefully we can stay with it, make it to the first pit stop and make it a little bit better. The track looks a little bit different. You could see where everybody was driving because of the rain. I don't know what it does to the sealer, but right now I don't see the sealer being a problem. It's pretty cool out, though.

"There's no second groove yet, but it's going to widen out a little bit. Guys are going to try to run lower, and some guys are going to try to run higher. It's never going to be side by side today, I don't think. We'll race whenever it's dry. I don't care. I don't care if we make it the distance or not. I just want to get home.

"We only done 20 laps or so. The car is OK, but it could be a little better. I'm sure everybody is saying the same thing right now. It looks like it's going to be a long day.

"I'll watch the Fomula One race and the IRL race. I won't watch football when racing is on. Everybody has got the same problem. I just think you come back out, crawl into the car and get ready to go. It's like going to qualify. You don't see your car for two hours and then you've got to go step on it and qualify. At Indianapolis, you've got to sleep overnight and then come out and qualify. It changes quite a bit.

"I'll just hang out in my motorhome tonight if we don't get it in. Last night we went to a movie because the kids aren't here. I don't know what we'll do tonight. We might just hang out here and watch a movie and go to bed early and race tomorrow morning if we don't get it in today. It doesn't look good for today. I had some plans for tomorrow, but I guess if we're racing at New Hampshire those plans will change."

JOHN ANDRETTI (No. 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Intrepid) Finishes 22nd
"Our car wasn't very good after the red flag. It was my fault. We were adjusting on it. The track was going one direction, and I couldn't go that quick that way. If I had set up the car loose, the track would have gone loose. I set the car up neutral and the track went tight and I got tight. I got together and spun and lost a lot of track position. Obviously they weren't going to throw a caution because everyone was still going. That cost me a lot of spots."

JIMMY SPENCER (No. 41 Target Dodge Intrepid R/T)  Top Finishing Dodge, 15th
"Track position was so critical. I really feel the Dodge needs help, but they're not going to give us any help. The Chevy and Pontiacs and Fords are strong. We had a real good car. We put four tires on there at the end and probably should have put on two. That cost us a shot at the top 10. Some of those guys beat us because of that. Track position was so critical, especially at this track because it's so hard to pass. It didn't come apart, but they need to do something to make it a better race for the fans. The Dodge needs a kickout. It needs more front grip. Our cars are tight everywhere we go. They've given them guys 22 inches (said in jest) kickout on the front, and we ain't got any. I feel bad for Sterling, but it's a Dodge. I don't care what anyone says. They haven't done anything all year long to help the Dodge. They've taken away from the Dodge. They gave everybody help but Dodge. I'm very upset over it. We're not going to give up on the championship hunt. Hopefully Sterling can come out of Dover with a solid run and get back on track, but when your car is not handling aero wise and the rest of them are, it's pretty hard to beat 'em."

WARD BURTON (No. 22 Caterpillar Dodge Intrepid R/T) Finishes 38th
"I got under the 43, but I didn't give him enough time. I'm not sure if he knew how far I was under him. I apologized to my guys. I feel like I messed up their day by being a little impatient. John does drive us awful hard sometimes, but I know that going in. I should have given it more time. We would have passed him in another lap or two."

STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Intrepid R/T) Finishes 21st, drops to second in point standings.
"The car was real tight all day. I couldn't turn it. We're doing the best we can with the rules we've got. Everybody has had rule changes but us. We've been hollering for a full kickout and we haven't got it. That's all I know. They've done it for every body else but the Dodges. We'll just do all we can do. I feel fine. It didn't bother me at all today. We just face a problem with the Dodges, tight, tight, tight, tight, tight. With the valence deal we've got now, we just can't get 'em turned. We'll go to Dover and do the best we can do. We're not going to quit yet."
