Doran Lista On Top In Mont-Tremblant
MONT-TREMBLANT, Quebec (September 13, 2002) -- Points-leading Doran Lista Racing posted the quickest lap time during practice today for Sunday's Rolex Sports Car Series 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant. Driver Didier Theys clocked a 112.568 mph lap in 1:24.749 in the morning session to put the #27 Judd-powered Dallara on top.
"The car is working well. For the last two days we worked on trying to get the best, most comfortable and more reliable car we can have for a six-hour race," remarked Theys. "We tried various different set-ups, and now I think we have a comfortable car. The balance is good."
Dyson Racing Team's #16 Judd-engined Crawford posted the second-fastest lap of the day in the early afternoon practice session with its 111.186 mph lap in 1:25.802.
The Morgan-Dollar Motorsports #46 Corvette was in front of the American GT class during all three practice sessions, with its quickest lap of the day coming in the morning session. The Corvette recorded a 100.192 mph lap in 1:35.217.
The Corvette was closely followed by the quickest GT competitor, with the Scuderia Ferrari of Washington #33 Ferrari 360GT, clocking a 99.603 mph lap in 1:35.780 to lead the class. The GTS class was led by The Racer's Group #67 Porsche GT3 R with a 96.086 mph lap in 1:39.286.
Rolex Series qualifying for the 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. The 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant will get underway on Sunday at 11 a.m., with the first two hours and final two hours being broadcast live on SPEED Channel.
