STERLING MARLIN, #40 COORS LIGHT DODGE NEW HAMPSHIRE ADVANCE EVENT INFORMATION--- EVENT: New Hampshire 300 (Race #26 of 36) TRACK: New Hampshire International Speedway, 1.058-mile oval QUALIFYING: Friday, September 13 at 3:05pm ET RACE: Sunday, September 15 at 1 pm ET BROADCAST: NBC television and MRN radio COORS LIGHT TEAM FACTS--- * New Hampshire International Speedway: In 15 career starts at New Hampshire International Speedway, Marlin has no wins and no poles. He has one top-5 finish and four top-10 finishes. His best start is an outside pole and came in his first race at New Hampshire (7/11/93); his best finish to date is the second place finish he scored last season on Nov. 23. Marlin is one of four drivers that have started all 15 races at New Hampshire without posing a DNF. The other three include Dale Jarrett, Bobby Labonte and Mark Martin. * Chassis: The Coors Light team will take chassis #105 to Loudon this weekend. This is the same car that finished 12th in Martinsville earlier this season and 11th in the Spring Richmond race. * Championship contender: Marlin has led the NASCAR Winston Cup championship point standings since Rockingham. He is the only driver to rank in the top-10 in points since the Daytona 500 in February 2001. Marlin has scored eight top-5 and 14 top-10 finishes this season. * Marlin finished in last place in the Dodge/Save Mart 350 at Sears Point and in the Chevrolet Monte Carlo 400 at Richmond. Under the current point system, never has that season's NASCAR Winston Cup champion finished last in a race more than once.
