Honda Motor to release new Accord in Europe in early 2003
September 10, 2002
Tokyo -- Bloomberg News reported that Honda Motor Co. said it will start selling its new Accord sedan in Europe in early 2003 to help make its business in the region profitable.
The seventh revamp of the Accord model will be equipped with 2-liter and 2.4-liter engines and meet the environment regulation set by the European Union for 2005, the company said. Honda plans to showcase the model at this month's Paris Motor Show.
Honda, which expects to return to profit in Europe in the year starting April 1, 2003, is betting on the new version of its best-selling car to increase sales in the region.
The company said it plans to release the sedan version first, followed by the Accord wagon. Honda will release diesel-powered Accords at the end of 2003.
