Max Papis to Race 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant

Max Papis to Race 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (September 6, 2002) -- Renowned racer Max Papis has joined the driver lineup for next weekend's Rolex Sports Car Series 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant in Quebec, Canada. Papis will partner with Lawrence Stroll and Nick Longhi in the Falcon Racing Ferrari 360 GT, which will compete in the Rolex Series GT class.

The 6 Heures du Circuit Mon-Tremblant will mark Papis' second Rolex Series race of the season. The 32-year-old Italian fulfilled his career ambition of winning the Rolex 24 At Daytona at the start of the 2002 season, teaming with Didier Theys, Mauro Baldi and Fredy Lienhard in the Doran Lista Racing #27 Judd-powered Dallara.

Papis' racing talent extends far beyond sports car racing. He finished sixth in the 2001 CART championship standings after winning from the pole in Portland. He also set a CART record at Laguna Seca in 2001 for driving from the deepest starting position (25th) to victory on a road or street course.

The Falcon Racing Ferrari 360 GT is one of the factory-produced race cars, identical to the Ferrari of Washington entry that currently holds a four-race winning streak in the GT class.

Papis will team in the Ferrari with Longhi and Stroll. Longhi is a regular in the Grand-Am Cup Street Stock Series, where he currently leads the Grand Sport II driver point standings. Stroll is well known as a competitor in Ferrari Challenge and Ferrari Historic races.

The Rolex Sports Car Series will run the inaugural 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant, September 13-15, joined by the Grand-Am Cup Street Stock Series. Additional information and tickets for the event are available online at www.lecircuit.com.
