Spartan Motors, Inc. To Present At RedChip Partners Investor Conference in New York- Sept. 19, 2002; Steve Forbes, Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Magazine, To Speak
CHARLOTTE, Mich.--Sept. 6, 2002--Spartan Motors, Inc. today announced it will be presenting at the RedChip Partners(TM) Investor Conference in New York on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002. Spartan's presentation, which is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET, will include a brief review of the company's past performance and a discussion regarding its future growth prospects in its core recreational vehicle and emergency-rescue markets. The Charlotte, Mich.-based manufacturer of motorhome chassis, fire truck chassis and emergency vehicles is coming off its seventh consecutive improved quarter, and is experiencing continued market growth in each of its niches.
Spartan Motors' net sales and net income have been steadily growing as a result of both the resurgence of the RV industry and the Bush administration's increase in funding for emergency-rescue departments, which has fueled fleet upgrades across the nation as municipalities and townships work to bring their emergency vehicles up to date in the wake of 9-11.
Spartan's stock has also risen dramatically over the past 18 months. The result of market share gains, lean manufacturing, concentration on engineering and successful introductions for new and innovative products in each of its segments, the Company's quarterly earnings have driven the stock price from around $2 in January 2001 to nearly $16 in July of this year.
Spartan Motors is also embarking on its first year as a Russell 3000 company. Spartan was added to the Russell 2000 Index in July, due to its substantial increase in market value over the past year-and-a-half.
