U.S. NATIONALS CHAMPION ANGELLE SAVOIE TO APPEAR ON FRIDAY'S RPM2NIGHT
Americus, Ga., September 5, 2002 - Two-time defending NHRA Pro Stock
Motorcycle champion Angelle Savoie, who last weekend scored her second
consecutive U.S. Nationals win, will be a featured guest on this Friday's
edition of RPM2Night. The show is scheduled to air on September 6 at 6:30
p.m. (Eastern) on ESPN2.
RPM2Night is ESPN's daily half-hour motorsports news and highlights show
hosted by John Kernan from the ESPN studios in Charlotte, N.C. The RPM2Night
crew has also recently returned from Indianapolis, having broadcast last
week's shows from Indianapolis Raceway Park, site of the Mac Tools U.S.
Nationals.
Angelle, who was named Pro Stock Motorcycle Rider of the year at last week's
Car Craft Drag Racing All-Stars awards banquet, currently leads the NHRA
POWERade championship points standings by 111 points over second place Craig
Treble. In addition to speaking about her exciting win in Indianapolis,
Angelle is also expected to discuss the Star Racing team's recent
announcement welcoming famed Connecticut gaming and entertainment resort
Mohegan Sun as their primary sponsor for the remainder of the 2002 NHRA
season.
In addition to the original airtime, the show will be rebroadcast on Sat
urday, September 7 at 2:00 and 6:30 a.m. (All times listed are Eastern.
