Isuzu Sales Jump 30 Percent in August; Best Retail Sales Month Since October 2001 for SUV Specialist
CERRITOS, Calif.--Sept. 4, 2002--Isuzu announced today that its August U.S. sales of sport utility vehicles rose a dramatic 30.4 percent over July, and constituted the company's best retail sales month since last October."While this year has been a challenge for us, our August results prove that we have the right combination of product, warranty and sales and marketing incentives to succeed in the crowded SUV marketplace," said J.T. Maloney, President, Isuzu Motors America, Inc.
In June, Isuzu was recognized by J.D. Power and Associates for being the most improved Japanese nameplate in initial quality over the last five years, and the second most improved nameplate in the industry. Meanwhile, the company continues to offer a 10-year/120,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, America's longest warranty, on all of the sport utility vehicles it sells in the United States.
"Our highly targeted marketing approach and our various customer cash-back and zero-percent financing programs are clearly bringing consumers into Isuzu showrooms -- August proves that," Maloney said. "And our quality and warranty protection are putting them behind the wheel of new Isuzu vehicles."
Isuzu markets the Trooper, Axiom, Rodeo and Rodeo Sport SUVs in the United States.
