the pci group Announces PMI Authorized eLearning Capability

    TROY, Mich.--Sept. 3, 2002--the pci group ("pci") announced today that it has added an eLearning/web-based educational component to its already extensive training and education capability.
    The course, titled An Applied Framework for Project Management was commissioned by the Project Management Institute ("PMI") and based on PMI's Project Management Body of Knowledge (or "PMBOK"), the world's most accepted project management standard guide.
    The class is self-paced, and encompasses 20 hours of instruction. There are five topics/modules for the course: Introduction to Project Management; The Initiating Process; The Planning Process; The Executing Process; and, The Controlling Process. Certificates are issued by PMI to those who complete the course, and PMI will also award 20 Professional Development Units, which can be used towards certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
    The cost of the course is $450 per user. Volume discounts are available for groups of ten or more, and pci will include an electronic copy of its Project Management Best Practices 2001 report (which retails for $295) to these groups.
