Spanish car sales down 10.4 pct yr/yr in Aug

MADRID, Sept 2 Reuters reported that new car sales in Spain fell 10.4 percent year-on-year in August to 79,416 units, provisional data from Spain's National Carmakers' Association ANFAC said on Monday.

It followed a six percent year-on-year fall in new car sales in July.

The number of new cars sold in the first eight months of the year fell 8.8 percent to 927,072 units.

Four-wheel-drive car sales fell 6.1 percent to 5,130 units in August and by 7.6 percent to 48,955 in the first eight months of the year.
