Carmichael Completes Perfect Season!
AMA/Chevy Trucks US Motocross Series, Round 12: Steel City Raceway,
Delmont, PA, Sunday, September 1, 2002
Honda Racing's Ricky Carmichael completes the perfect season! En route to
the 2002 AMA Motocross Championship RC has crushed the competition by
winning 24 out of 24 moto's aboard his CR250R. Carmichael came into the
final round in Delmont, PA needing to win back-to-back motos to keep his
streak alive and he did it in typical Carmichael style - he dominated.
I usually don't get good starts here, said Carmichael. But after I got the
good start and won the first moto I really didn't feel the pressure in the
second. I figured I should be able to get one more victory.
RC has had a history making season in 2002, by winning 2 titles - AMA
Supercross and AMA Motocross, 11 main event wins out of 16 in Supercross
and 12 out of 12 overalls in Motocross - 23 wins out of 28 events in all!
