Reichhold Announces New Technology Project Manager for Composites Business
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--Aug. 29, 2002--Reichhold, Inc. today announced that Steven Hardebeck has joined the company as technical project manager for the company's Global Composites business.Hardebeck is tasked with developing new and improved closed molding applications for Reichhold products. He is also responsible for coordinating all technical projects related to closed molding applications on a global basis, including sheet molding compound (SMC), bulk molding compound (BMC) and resin transfer molding (RTM) processes.
"Closed molding processes are becoming a preferred technique for controlling laminate quality and VOC emissions in the composites industry," commented Jose Luiz Calvo Filho, vice president of technology for Global Composites at Reichhold. "By taking advantage of Steven's 23 years of technical experience and vast knowledge in resin molding, Reichhold will continue to develop new and improved closed molding applications for the global marketplace."
Prior to joining Reichhold, Hardebeck was the product leader for RTM at AOC, a provider of resin technology. In this position, he was responsible for coordinating technical service, research and design and customer support activities for RTM. At AOC, Hardebeck also served as a product leader for the sheet molding compound division, where he developed a low temperature/low pressure sheet molding compound. Prior to AOC, Hardebeck worked at Owens Corning.
Hardebeck earned a master's in chemistry from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor's in chemistry from the Valparaiso University. He is a certified composites technician and member of the American Chemical Association and the Composite Fabricators Association. He was also granted a U.S. patent for low temperature/low pressure sheet molding compound formulations (U.S. patent #6228918).
Hardebeck is based in Reichhold's corporate headquarters in RTP, N.C., USA.
