REMINDER/Drexel University Takes PGW's 100 Percent Natural Gas Powered Crown Victoria 'Out for a Spin'
--Aug. 28, 2002--What: Drexel University Senior Vice President Anthony Caneris will kick the tires, rev the engine and take a test drive in the Philadelphia Gas Works' 100 percent natural gas powered 2002 Ford Crown Victoria to evaluate the possibility of making natural gas powered vehicles a part of the University's transportation fleet. After the test drive, PGW CEO Thomas E. Knudsen and Caneris will compare notes. Although the Crown Vic may look like a regular car in every other way, there are three "gas" cylinders in the trunk and one underneath the vehicle where the gasoline tank would normally be installed. The Crown Vic gets 18 miles to the gallon and at .75 a gallon, a fill-up would run about 10 bucks.
