Jacobs Receives Behr America Contract

TULLAHOMA, Tenn.--Aug. 27, 2002--Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that a subsidiary company received a contract from Behr America, Inc., to provide engineering and construction services for the development of a new climatic wind tunnel at the Behr Technical Center in Troy, Mich.
Officials did not disclose the contract value.
The Troy Wind Tunnel will be one of the most advanced in the field of climatic testing, providing flow simulation sufficient for aerodynamic wind tunnel testing as well as the capability for acoustic testing at moderate speeds. The Tunnel will simulate precise climactic conditions to test climate control and engine cooling systems under all weather extremes, from below 30 degrees centigrade to above 50 degrees centigrade.
The Tunnel will be similar to the climatic wind tunnel Jacobs recently provided for Behr GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany, though it will be capable of an even greater range of environmental simulation.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Executive Vice President Richard Slater stated, "This contract provides us with an excellent opportunity to build upon our partnership with Behr while applying our environmental testing experience. The Troy Wind Tunnel will allow Behr to reduce product development cycles by testing components on full-scale automobiles ranging from small passenger cars to trucks."
