Law Looking Forward to VIR

PHOENIX, Ariz. (August 26, 2002) - Rolex Sports Car Series driver Darren Law is looking forward to competing on his "surrogate" home track - Virginia International Raceway.

Since his team, G&W Motorsports, is based at the Alton, VA, track Law has gotten significant time on the 3.27-mile, 17-turn road course.

"I have only actually raced at VIR a couple of times but I have spent a lot of time at the track since my team is based there," Law said. "We do all of our testing at VIR, so I have turned a number of laps on the circuit. It is really our home track."

Law will be competing for top honors in the Sport Racer Prototype II (SRPII) class in the #70 Momentum Motorcars/G&W Motorsports BMW-powered Picchio Prototype sponsored by USI Insurance and Valley Group.

Pulling double duty throughout the weekend, Law will also qualify and race the #01 G&W Motorsports/Jennifer Fund Porsche Cup car in the Grand-Am Cup Grand Sport I (GS I) class. Law will be looking for his fourth pole of the season during Grand-Am Cup qualifying on Saturday morning.
