Visteon Corporation to Deliver Compressor Technology For Future Chrysler Group Products
DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 26, Visteon Corporation will provide future Chrysler Group vehicles with its reliable, durable and lightweight compressors.
The space-efficient and lightweight aluminum compressor uses forged aluminum pistons and swashplate. The Visteon fixed-displacement compressor selected by the Chrysler Group should minimize Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH), giving consumers a quieter ride.
"We are pleased with the opportunity to support the Chrysler Group with Climate Control products and to expand our business with this leading global automaker," said Dr. Wilfred Janke, Vice President for the German Customer Business Group. "This product illustrates Visteon's global capability, from the expertise of Visteon design and engineering to the manufacturing expertise of our HallaClimate Control facilities in South Korea."
The compressors to be supplied to the Chrysler Group are being manufactured at Visteon's Halla Climate Control facilities in Taejon and Pyongtaek, South Korea. Visteon designs and manufactures compressors in Europe, Asia and North America.
Compressors are primarily used to move refrigerant through an air conditioning system. Visteon manufactures three different compressor technologies with a variety of displacements, providing options for our customers' unique applications. Visteon compressor technologies include fixed and variable displacement swashplate designs, as well as fixed and variable capacity scroll designs.
The displacement of the compressors Visteon will make for the Chrysler Group is 154 cubic centimeters and 180 cubic centimeters, respectively, and includes an integral muffler/manifold design.
