NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series - Friday's Final Results from Renegade Raceways

JOHNSON & AUSTIN TOP QUALIFIERS HEADING INTO ROUND 1

Yakima, Wash. - Brandon Johnson in Top Alcohol Dragster and Bucky Austin in Top Alcohol Funny Car remain the top qualifiers after the final session of qualifying at Renegade Raceways.  
Johnson of Shelton, Wash., ran his best pass of the day during the third and final qualifying session of the event as he posted a 5.612-second, 248.29 mph run.  This is the second time in as many weeks that the rookie Top Alcohol Dragster has earned the top qualifier honor.  
Fife, Wash., resident Austin, also made his best pass of the day during the third qualifying session with a 5.937-second, 246.26 mph pass. 
Top qualifiers in other categories are Tom Tucker of Bend, Ore., in Comp; Steven Wann of Modesto, Calif., in Super Stock; and Don Wann of Modesto, Calif., in Stock.  
	Gates open tomorrow for the final day of competition at Renegade Raceway's NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at 8 a.m.  Time trials and qualifying begin at 10 a.m., with round one of eliminations scheduled for 2 p.m.  The first round of Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car is set for 5 p.m.  Spectator admission is $12 and children 12 and under are free with a paid adult.
