Those fans who liked the cars from the movie 'The Fast and Furious' will not want to miss the Grand-Am Cup Street Stock Series Sport Touring 250 on Saturday, August 31. The hottest sport compacts from Acura, Lexus, BMW, Hyundai and Ford will battle it out for 250 miles in one of the most exciting races of the weekend.
Admirers of muscle cars will also want to make sure they are in attendance on Saturday for Grand-Am Cup's Grand Sport 250. American favorites like Corvette and Mustang will face off against powerful imports like Porsche, Audi and BMW in the second of Grand-Am Cup's Twin 250s.
But the entertainment will not be limited to the racetrack. On Friday, August 30, VIR will show the classic race movie 'Grand Prix' for fans at nightfall in VIR's outdoor theatre on the Pavilion. Fireworks will light up the sky over VIR on Saturday, August 31, when the racetrack gives fans a Labor Day weekend fireworks display they will not want to miss.
VIR's scenic road course is nestled in Virginia's rolling hills and provides the perfect country atmosphere for those fans looking to go camping during the holiday weekend. Fans can pick their ideal location on a hillside that will allow them to enjoy all the racing action from their campsite.
And for those fans who have an urge to get on the track, VIR will offer fans the opportunity to drive their streetcars around the historic road course with touring sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
